CHAD HATCHER
Tunnels & Pathways marks the debut release for Halflife Records recording artist Chad Hatcher. This release features 14 tracks all produced by Juno nominated producer Classified.Chad’s style is hard to define. He blends elements of Blues, R&B, Soul, & Reggae with some Hip Hop influence. A mix that appeals to every demographic and is sure to make a fan out of anyone.
This 14 song masterpiece has been a long time in the making and does not disappoint. Along with Chad’s immediate presence as a singer/songwriter there are also appearances by such notable artists as Classified & DJ IV.
Born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada Chad began playing guitar, writing & singing around 12 years ago. He's been playing open mics throughout these years locally in Halifax, and has always written his own songs. He gained a very strong local following via word of mouth and is starting to be noticed across Canada and beyond for his very unique and distinctive style.
In 2006 Chad met Classified through a friend, and they instantly had a musical chemistry and started working on songs. He did some vocals for a few songs from Hitch Hikin' Music. "Classified asked me if I wanted to record one of my own which was "All About You" "He really liked the vibe and asked if he could add some lyrics to it and thats when the song really came together" says Chad. The song was added as the 3rd single from The Hitch Hikin' Music cd and then they went to make the video in Toronto in November from there it started to get radio play across Canada on Commercial Stations the video went to Muchmusic in early January Debuting at 30 on the Weekly Countdown It stayed for 2 Months on the Countdown and gets Rotation on Muchmusic and MuchVibe and Medium on MuchMoreMusic.
Chad is currently promoting his debut CD which is titled Tunnels and Pathways. It was recorded and produced by Classified at HalfLife studios and was released on Jaunary 15th, 2008. The album is best described as a mix of many of styles including Blues, R&B, Soul, Reggae & Pop, with some Hip Hop influence. Solid beats backed up by cool acoustic guitar melodies, catchy hooks, & positive lyrics about getting past everyday life struggles that apply to people in all social scales and a wide age group. With the release of the first single & video for the track “Do It All Again” in October 2007, followed by a national tour in January-February 2008 alongside of Classified, Chad has his sights set on big things. Along with being a Canadian Music Week songwriting contest winner (2008), Chad was recently an opening act for a Nas concert in Halifax, and is booked to perform alongside such notable artists as Kardinal Offishall, Classified and Nelly this upcoming summer.
