What’s up everyone?

If you’re reading this, you’ve managed to find your way to the brand new home of Classified and Half Life Records. The HalfLife Crew has been real busy, and 2009 is shaping up to be an amazing year for us. We’re going to be keeping this space updated regularly with news on everything we’re up to, and here’s the first of many updates to get you up to speed

Classified has been in Enfield putting the finishing touches on his new album (and spending time with his wife and their newborn baby girl Taylor), which is due in stores in March.  We’ve teamed up with Sony Music to release this record, so expect big things. We’ll be hitting the internets very soon with an animated video for the new single ‘Trouble‘, which you can expect to see right here in the next month or so. We’ll hit you with more info over the coming weeks.

Chad Hatcher snagged a VideoFACT grant to shoot the video for his next single ‘You Say It’s All Been Said‘ featuring Classified. We should have that for you online and at Much before Christmas. Chad’s also been hard at work on a new album as well, so stay tuned for more on that.

Mic Boyd’s new video for ‘True Love‘ is in post production and will be up on the internets very, very soon. That’s it for new music news.

We built this website as a tool to interact with everyone who has supported us for all these years, and the whole crew will be hanging out here on the regular. So join the community, upload your pics and videos from HalfLife shows, and connect with us. We have tons in store for you, and it’s really important to us that we get to know you guys. We’ll be tweaking it all the time too, and we’d love to hear your ideas.

New Classified Single - “Trouble”

“Trouble”, the first single from Classified’s new album (coming April/March) is available now on iTunes. Check it out right here and let us know what you think in the community area. We’ll hit you with the video next week, so stay tuned for that.

Never Say Never Tour

Class is wrapping up the Canadian leg of the Never Say Never Tour with D12, Royce 5′9″, and Joe Budden. They’ll be hitting the U.S. and Europe next and we’ll post those dates in the next couple of days. In the meantime, check out DJ IV’s video blogs from the road. If you missed the show in your area don’t stress it - the entire Half Life Crew will be hitting the road from coast to coast again in March.

Classified Signs With Sony Music Canada

Class has inked a new deal with Sony Music Canada for his March 2009 release. It’s his first major label release and we’re pretty excited to have the opportunity to break into the US and European markets in a way that we haven’t been able to before. Class commented on the deal over at HipHopCanada.com the other day, so check that out for a little insight into how it’s structured if you’re interested in that.

New Mic Boyd Video - “Too Hard”

Finally, here’s the new no budget video for ‘Too Hard’ from Mic Boyd. Stay tuned for another new Mic Boyd single hitting the internets, radio, Much and MTV in the next few weeks!

The video for ‘Trouble’ is live on the site and YouTube! We need you guys to help us spread it far and wide to build anticipation for the new album ‘Self Explanatory’. It’s dropping in March 09 and we can’t wait for you guys to hear it.

A few fans have expressed concern over the fact that this is yet another animated video. If you are one of them, don’t worry. Next up is a dope live action video for the official single “Anybody Listening” which should be dropping in the next month or two. We’ll try to post up some photos from the video shoot soon.

Classified’s new single ‘Anybody Listening’ is live on the Facebook and MySpace pages. Check it out and leave a comment to let us know what you think! We’ll be dropping the video in the next week or two. You can help us out by requesting it at your local radio stations as often as possible.

‘Anybody Listening’ is heating up across Canada, and debuted this week at #29 on Billboard’s Emerging Canadian Artists Chart. Classified was also featured in Billboards weekly Canadian Update yesterday. Keep firing requests in to your local stations!
